Traditional Panel Beating
The craft of producing and repairing body panels by hand, where sheets of aluminium or steel are carefully worked and formed, the process of traditional panel beating demands precision and a great deal of patience.
Using a mixture of traditional tools such as wooden mallets, sandbags, body hammers, dollies and the English wheel, these classic techniques are critical for repairing classic and vintage cars to a manufacturers original standard.
At Old Park Classics, these tools and techniques are used in conjunction with modern ones, refining the process without compromise. By the time our cars leave for the paint shop, in their bare metal form, the lines and curves travel beautifully across each panel, uninterrupted. Doors and panels are evenly gapped with solid metal rather than filler, producing a durable, factory finish, in need of minimal work ahead of the top coat.
Executed correctly, panel beating is time consuming and requires a high level of workmanship. From small panel repairs to full body restorations, we warmly welcome anything you're passionate about - from highly valuable classics to those of personal importance.
